In this video, I discuss the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS) and its importance in assessing suicide risk. I explain the different questions asked in the tool to evaluate suicidal ideation and behaviors. Understanding risk and protective factors, as well as safety planning, is crucial in identifying and supporting at-risk individuals. Action steps, such as creating safety plans and collaborating with mental health providers, are highlighted. Viewers are encouraged to monitor for warning signs and seek further evaluation for high-risk cases.
